Information We Collect
2.1 Practice (Business) Data
When a medical practice registers for No-Show Shield, we collect: business name, address, contact email, phone number, and billing information.
2.2 Patient Data
Medical practices may input patient information including patient name, phone number, appointment date and time, and provider name. This data is used solely to deliver the Service.
2.3 SMS Communication Data
We collect records of SMS messages sent and received, including delivery status, opt-in and opt-out events, and confirmation responses.
2.4 Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how the Service is accessed, including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
SMS Messaging & Patient Consent
No-Show Shield sends SMS messages to patients on behalf of medical practices, including appointment reminders, waitlist slot notifications, and confirmation links.
Opt-In
Patients must explicitly opt in via a dedicated SMS consent checkbox on the booking form, separate from any Terms or Privacy Policy. The checkbox is mandatory — patients cannot proceed without checking it.
Opt-Out
Patients may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any SMS. We immediately cease sending messages. Patients may re-subscribe by replying START.
Message Frequency
Message frequency depends on appointment activity. Patients may receive 1–5 messages per appointment event. Standard message and data rates may apply.
No Marketing SMS
We do not send promotional or marketing SMS messages. All communications are strictly transactional — appointment reminders and slot confirmations only.
How We Use Your Information

No-Show Shield operates as a Business Associate under HIPAA when processing Protected Health Information (PHI) on behalf of Covered Entities. We enter into Business Associate Agreements (BAA) with practices as required. PHI is used solely to fulfill agreed-upon services.
